“Concha Piquer has wanted to meet Federico García Lorca for a long time. He is the most popular poet  of the time and she is the most famous singer of Spain. As a woman used to managing her fate and to not being given no as an answer, she asks her collaborator Rafael de León to arrange an appointment with the poet at the Calderon Theatre of Madrid. She wants to ask him to write a song for her. Federico accepts. He admires the singer’s voice and hopes to generate income that will allow him to maintain his pleasant lifestyle. But once they are face to face, the true reason for the encounter is revealed: she wants to warn Federico that the country’s situation is irreversible. “People like him” should flee and go abroad as soon as possible. Federico thinks that spirits will calm down. Spain is his homeland, where he will never feel like a stranger.”  Juan Carlos Rubio
