Winner of the Laurence Olivier Award 2015 for Best New Comedy –the most prestigious prize of British theatre–, The play that goes wrong, a mixture of Monty Python and Sherlock Holmes, presents an amateur theatre group at the premiere of its mystery play during which, as the title says, everything that can go wrong goes wrong! Strangely accident-prone, the actors fight against adversity during the entire performance, with consequences that are as amusing as they are irreparable.
An absolute hit in London’s West End with 8 million spectators since its premier in 2012, it has received major prizes that include the BroadwayWorld 2017 Award for Best Premiere, Best Direction and Best Sound Design; the Tony 2017 Award for Best Scenic Design and the BroadwayWorld UK 2015 Award for Best New Play.
